Tracie M. Burns, a distinguished attorney with over three decades of exemplary legal
practice, is seeking your support to become the next Judge on the Court of Common
Pleas of Delaware County. Tracie will be honored as the Delaware County Bar
Association Criminal Defense Section's 2024 Person of the Year, a testament to her
exceptional contributions to the legal field and her unwavering dedication to justice. Her
extensive experience, unwavering commitment to justice, and heartfelt dedication to
community service make her an outstanding candidate for this vital judicial role.
The Court of Common Pleas serves as Pennsylvania's trial court, where family, civil,
criminal, and Orphans’ court matters are heard. Tracie understands what the public seeks
when entering a courtroom: to be heard and to receive a fair hearing conducted by a
knowledgeable, skilled, and impartial judge. She is prepared to meet these expectations
and exceed them.

Legal Expertise

Tracie graduated from The Dickinson School of Law in 1994 and immediately began her
legal career in Chester, Pennsylvania, where her practice continues to thrive. Over the
past 30 years, she has demonstrated exceptional skill across all sectors of the Court,
including family, civil, and criminal cases. Her extensive trial experience has honed her
expertise in the real-time application of the Rules of Evidence, Rules of Criminal
Procedure, and Rules of Civil Procedure. As a fierce advocate for her clients, Tracie
ensures they feel respected and treated fairly. These values will guide her judicial
approach, ensuring every person appearing before her will be heard and receive a fair,
impartial hearing in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Community Leadership

Beyond her remarkable legal career, Tracie has spent decades engaged in transformative
community service. She volunteers for CHOICES, a breast cancer awareness
organization that provides direct support to patients, and for Community Forgiveness
and Restoration, where she advises returning citizens on parole regulations, compliance,
and access to resources. Her leadership extends to working with expungement and pardon
clinics, where she helps individuals achieve second chances by clearing their records.
Tracie is also deeply involved with youth empowerment. As Secretary for the Chester
Biddy Youth Basketball League, she dedicates weekends from December through April
mentoring and supporting children ages 4 to 13 from across Delaware County. Her
involvement combines discipline, care, and community engagement, leaving a lasting
positive impact on the next generation.

Personal Dedication

A proud resident of Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, Tracie is the mother of Jarrett, who is
completing his residency in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Her personal
values of perseverance, integrity, and service to others define her professional and
community ethos.
